Farmers Market Promotion Program Grants Available

USDA Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan recently announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking grant applicants for the 2012 Farmers Market Promotion Program. The Farmers Market Promotion Program is in the seventh year of funding direct markets that benefit local and regional economies.  The deadline for application submissions is May 21, 2012.

“Through special software we’re now able to conduct a workshop and turn it into an interactive training opportunity. Not only does this make it convenient for the producers, it helps us secure qualified speakers and conference leaders who can conduct the training session in their office, wherever that might be,” he adds.
